چکیده

New types of ceramic coatings based on SiO2-Na2O-B2O3-TiO2 oxide phases were investigated as protection for boiler steel in power generation systems. Low-alloyed Cr-Mo 16Mo3 was coated with different compositions enamel to assess the protective potential these under water vapor at high temperatures. Oxidation 650 °C 50 h Ar + performed a TGA apparatus investigate oxidation kinetics. The results indicate that provided degree exposed such conditions compared uncoated steel. Furthermore, despite formation cracks coatings, no spallation from surface observed. Interconnected porosity is suspected provoke interfacial degradation.

Investigation of influences of alloying elements and sintering temperature on the properties of high strength low alloyed sintered steel

Producing parts with high density and improved mechanical properties is one of the most important aims of powder metallurgy process. There are many factors for attaining modified properties in sintered parts but among them controlling type and quantity of alloying elements and manufacturing parameters such as compacting pressure, sintering temperature are the most effective. In this research, t...

EFFECT OF HIGH TEMPERATURE OXIDATION ON THE CORROSION BEHAVIOR OF ALUMINIZED LOW CARBON STEEL IN MOLTEN ALUMINUM

Hot dip aluminizing was carried out on the low carbon steel rod under optimized conditions. The aluminized samples were further oxidized at 1000̊C in air atmosphere at two different times of 20 and 60 minutes. Microstructure study and phase analysis were studied by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction methods, respectively. The characterization of the coating showed that, Fe2...

Water vapor effect on high-temperature oxidation behavior of Fe3Al intermetallics.

Fe3Al intermetallics (Fe3Al, Fe3Al-Zr, Fe3Al-Zr,Mo and Fe3Al-Zr, Mo, Nb) were oxidized at 950 °C in dry and humid (11 vol% water) synthetic air. Thermogravimetric measurements showed that the oxidation rates of the tested intermetallics were lower in humid air than in dry air (especially for Fe3Al-Zr, Mo and Fe3Al-Zr, Mo, Nb). The addition of small amounts of Zr, Mo or Nb improved the kinetics ...

Numerical Simulation of High Temperature Corrosion Processes in Mn, Cr, Si, Al – Alloyed Steel Samples

The grain boundary oxidation mechanism in hot rolled steel samples during cooling from 500 °C – 800 °C down to room temperature was mathematically modeled. Given a fixed temperature ramp, the migration of the atomic species (iron, oxygen and the alloying elements) has been calculated with the parabolic rate equation for diffusion. After each small time step, the data was transferred into the da...
